  • "AUDIO MARVELS by ZenSati"

ìFriendly José Felix of Assai Audio let me have a pair of ZenSati interconnects to try at home for a weekend. I found themÖ But allow me to first make a suggestion: youíd better not try them, you may run into trouble. WellÖ donít take me wrong! Your rig wonít be harmed, it will keep sounding as you well know it does, andÖ thatís the troubleÖ

Those two long evenings I devoted myself to listening to CDs and what I found? I guess all that had been laser- written on them. Music coming from CDs I thought I knew o well, but I didnít at all! Music so natural, so transparent which kept escalating the walls of my modestly sized room to heights unforeseenÖ tightly enveloping me endlessly disc after discÖ

Now, instruments sounded like they should. I could clearly tell a viola from a violin as in Bachís Wedding cantata (206. That guitar on the right is none other than Paco de Lucíaís and not Ramónís, his brother. I can now hear clearly what the Pope sayd in the line of that song ñ from a poem by García Lorca:îPilgrimsí Romanceî- in Carmen Linaresí sweetly disheveled flamenco voice. I could feel waves of warmth blowing at me as Coleman Hawks added breath sonorities to his sax notesÖ All the while I was under the impression that the volume button on my handset ignored loudness levels, but that it controlled distance instead. It made me feel as if I were walking up and down the aisle of a concert hall, looking for that seat in that row offering the best site to hear and watch the musical event. Then, I found myself attending one of Glenn Gouldís idiosyncratic piano exhibits over a masterwork by our indispensable J.S Bach. Öwave after wave of vigorous piano notes kept splashing around in a whirl of dynamics so lively, so timely as unheard of through this audio setup of mine. And between the openings of music phrases on these magical scores (English suites) distinctly, there came excited a voice (ÖBachís? GlennísÖ?) mumbling the tunesÖ

I only tried this ZenSati pair on my veteran but still musically convincing Mark Levinson 390S CD player. Iíd rather leave 2 alone my other audio item, just to keep in my memory as whole and as fresh as possible that old sound I have to live with for the time being, at least. My old cables have been taught quite a lesson. Iíll have to cheer them up! It wonít be easy to readjust my hearing to them.

It has been a rewarding experience which I might resume by saying that if a pair of ZenSati interconnects (basic class!) can upgrade the quality of sound of an audio system the way they uplifted the sound of mine, such cables can rightfully be regarded as unique; just as unique as a component which will make the rest of gear depend on for our audio system best overall performance. Musical veracity Iíd say is the topmost issue in audio research. It is veracity ZenSati cables deliver so joyfully, with such subtlety that I dare say, we audio die-hards have never heard before, no matter how costly our audio equipment. î

  • "Knox Audio Endorsement on ZenSati Seraphim Cables"

ìI would like to thank ZenSati Australia for the opportunity to audition the Seraphim range of cables in my reference system. The Seraphim cables had a most profound impact on my systems sound quality - In fact I was so impressed that I have included the entire ZenSati range of cables within my product range. The following is how I went about my review of ZenSati Seraphim cables and what I discovered:- Initially, I introduced one pair of ZenSati Seraphim balanced interconnects between the Soulution 745 SACD player and the Soulution 720 preamplifier and I was amazed at the increased liquidity & coherence and detail that they seemed to extract from every disc I played.

    ï Liquidity & Coherence
I found the system had a sense of continuousness that Iíve previously only heard with vacuum tubes. This increase in liquidity & coherence occurred by only changing one interconnect cable in a fully solid state system.

    ï Detail
There appeared to be an overall increase in all kinds of musical detail, soundstage size increased in all directions, the ability to define the extent of the acoustic space within a recording was made much easier. On good recordings, voices were extremely nuanced and portrayed realistic levels of sibilance and breathiness while sounding very natural and believable. Overall dynamics, both macro & micro were improved; in particular I could hear a vast improvement in dynamic shadings that were previously difficult to recognise. I was able to better differentiate, not only the differences in micro dynamics of each instrument, but the differences in micro dynamics of each note played by each instrument even within extremely complex passages.
This increased detail was completely natural and extremely neutral in its presentation. One at a time I continued to change the other cables in my system. The next cable that was installed was a ZenSati Seraphim balanced interconnect between the Soulution 720 preamplifier and the Soulution 700 mono power amplifiers. Then, I changed all the power cables to ZenSati Seraphim and finally the ZenSati Seraphim speaker cables were connected to my Marten Coltrane 2 speakers.
With each additional ZenSati Seraphim cable I introduced into my system I heard further improvements in liquidity & coherence and detail. These improvements seemed to have an additive effect of continually increasing the overall naturalness of the system. I actually think this effect is more of a subtractive effect, as each newly introduced cable removes any apparent sonic signature that the existing cable had on the system. This effect is most certainly an improvement by making the system, as a whole, more neutral and natural in its presentation.
The ZenSati Seraphim cables now have about 300 hours or so of running on them and are continuing to improve and have now become even smoother and more nuanced, portraying an open soundstage with an even greater sense of realism & naturalness and a whole new level of refinement. Most cables when new take a fair amount of running-in before they start to settle down and become musically satisfying. However, even straight out of the box I found that the ZenSati Seraphim cables were very impressive and easy to live with. Itís only now, retrospectively, after hearing the cables with some running time on them that I am able to see that straight out of the box the cables were ever so slightly harsh in the top end. This level of harshness was so small that initially it was not even obvious to me; this is quite surprising especially considering they were replacing other top flight cables in my system that had more than a thousand hours on them.
These are amazing cables. Well done Zensati.î

  • "Once they were installed, there was no doubt in my mind."

ìIn my 25 years as an audio enthusiast, I have auditioned more equipment and had more components in my listening room than most people can even imagine.
It all began for me in the mid-1980ís with a Denon system. At the time, cables were not a major concern, as was likely true of most enthusiasts. Cables only became an issue with the purchase of my first High End amplifier, Mark Levinson ML 27, a source of musical joy for a couple of years with a set of Kimber 8tc loudspeaker cables. It was here that I discovered the crucial significance of cables. Then, changing amplifiers and cables became an almost addictive pastime.
Through the late 1990ís and into the new millennium, I owned countless components and cables from far and near: Transparent, MIT, XLO, Bertram, NBS, Echole, Tara Labs, Van den Hul, Crystal, Siltech, Electraglide, Dyrholm Design Audio, Mictor, Synergistic Research, Gamut, Silent Wire and, not least, virtually every variety of Nordost, including Tyr, Valhalla and Odin.
Each of these cables had its own unique set of strengths and weaknesses! I could be satisfied for a while, but, ultimately, I missed the MUSIC and was forced to take the next step.
The great revelation came in November 2009 at a Copenhagen hi-fi show where I met Mark Johansen in connection with the world premiere of ZenSati. Mark explained the ZenSati concept and his unique approach to cable design. My interest was aroused. At that weekend event, Mark presented four different systems wired with ZenSati cables. We had an in-depth talk about his concept in which neutrality is crucial and I listened intently to the various systems. It moved my soul. I had never before experienced this level of neutrality, speed and dynamics. I just sat there slack-jawed as I listened.
That weekend was a major breakthrough for ZenSati with exceptional sound in all four demonstration suites. I was convinced that this was a revolution in the field of cable technology. ZenSati was all my friends and I could talk about.
Somehow, a couple of years passed before I made up my mind to upgrade my cables once again. But this time, I wanted it to be the last time. So I chose ZenSati interconnects and speaker cables. Once they were installed, there was no doubt in my mind. Damn! (Pardon my language), but suddenly everything fell into place. Neutrality, dynamics and, most importantly, the MUSIC were all present and accounted for.
I would rather not try to add up exactly how much I have spent on cables over the years! ZenSati is simply the most neutral cable in the world. My current ZenSati #3 beats anything I have ever owned. All that remains is final fine-tuning with ZenSati power cables. After that, the only possible upgrade is ZenSati #1 and #2.
My heartfelt congratulations to Mark Johansen. YOU DID IT!
Today, my system consists of Gryphon Atilla integrated amplifier, Olive media server, Gamut s5 loudspeakers and, of course, ZenSati #3 throughout.î

  • "Depth and atmosphere, which I normally experience only in a live performance."

HagiaìThe most important thing for me is honesty and by that I mean primarily honesty to oneself. Every single day I learn something new about myself and I use this new knowledge when I am onstage playing the Piano. In that moment, I am emotionally naked and can hide nothing. I can only give what I have in my soul and that is what I do.
Each piano is unique. There are no two identical instruments, each has a soul, its own sound and that sound is the next most important feature for me. Sound is like your own signature. As with pianos, there are never two identical pianists. Each has his own sound. This sound is a part of my path and each movement of my soul is reflected in the sound of music on the instruments that I play.
Another important thing for me has been learning about music in its various cultural contexts, studying the differences between Eastern and Western cultures and assimilating them into my playing. This has required extreme attention to detail. For instance, Frederic Chopin is one of my favorite composers. It is not only important for me to perform his music in precise detail, but equally to reflect on it, to listen and express what the composer might have been thinking, what his intentions were and how his compositions were played in his own time, when the music was composed.
Since honesty is so very important to me, the ZenSati cables fit in well with my philosophy of life. It is an honest cable, transferring information without any alteration. Every last detail of the recording is illuminated without addition or subtraction.
Cables are obviously so much more than mere wiring. There are many alternative approaches and I have experimented extensively with various solutions and cable types.
Listening with ZenSati cables reveals all the overtones and undertones. Even the slightest change is clearly audible. I must admit that I was initially frightened by the level of detail laid bare by the ZenSati cables, but naturally, it is crucial to convey all the information preserved in a recording. This is what lends recorded music depth and atmosphere, which I normally experience only in a live performance.î

  • ìZenSati Seraphim delivers the thrill and involvement of listening to the real thingì

Music has always been my great passion. I have been on a life-long quest for the best hi-fi equipment, spending more than 40 years in search of audio components that could bring home the live music experience. Musicality has been my goal and there have been many fine moments along the way. A staggering amount of very different equipment has passed through my living room. Looking back, there are not many brands that have not at one time or another had a place in my home, almost every single time with a positive result. But now, I have taken a definitive step in the right direction.
More than a quarter of a century ago, I discovered that Audio Research tube amps were a good starting point for my quest. Through the years, many of their products found a home with me, including their outstanding CD players. I have stood by Audio Research products because of their authority, warmth and musicality.
Similarly, I discovered the Linn LP12 turntable early on. As a tried and true concept that is frequently updated with incremental improvements, the LP12 delivers music like no other. However, it has been a more difficult task for me to find the right speaker. Many brands have passed through. Just in the past decade, there were Sonus Faber, ProAc and Wilson. After Wilson Sophia, I chose a set of Wilson Maxx 2, a phenomenal match for my current Audio Research equipment.
Unfortunately, I must confess that it was only late in my journey towards musical realism that I become fully aware of the impact of cables on the equipment's ability to reproduce music.
The cable jungle is a paradise for manufacturers, but I find it quite baffling. There are many exotic temptations that not necessarily do justice to the equipment and, consequently, to the music. There is no doubt that the correct cable can work miracles, while a poor choice can suck all the life out of music. It is extremely important to use cables that complement and create synergies with your own equipment.
Fortunately, I have competent and professional advisers in this area. After a long period with Cardas cables, I switched to ProXimA 1 Silver Edition. It was a sobering step up. So much so, that it brought me very close to the level of musicality that I had been seeking. Musical, detailed with a special feeling of being present at the performance.
For some years, I have been truly content to believe that my journey that began in 1968 had been successfully concluded. It has just been wonderful to be able to concentrate on the sheer joy of listening to music.
So it was with the notion that it would be nice to have my opinion re-affirmed that I agreed to audition a complete set of the new ZenSati Seraphim cable series.
Unexpectedly, Seraphim simply knocked me off my feet. It was a singular experience. I am profoundly moved by how amazingly musical and deeply engaging listening has become with enhanced insight into the very soul of the musical event. I feel completely transported. Seraphim establishes a soundstage far beyond the positions of the speakers. Everything is finally in harmony. Voices are reproduced with great authority and presence. With Seraphim, the natural separation of the contributing instruments lets you understand the music without ever compromising the whole. I recognize the music as I remember it from listening live. I get a strong feeling that the concert hall has been moved to my home. For me, it has been wonderful to finally have access to the full extent of the extraordinary music experience that my equipment is capable of delivering in conjunction with the ZenSati Seraphim cables.
Together with my equipment, the ZenSati Seraphim delivers the thrill and involvement of listening to the real thing.

  • ZenSati Cables - ìThe Perfect Match for Our Productsî

ìWe used the ZenSati cables on our Prelude Line and also on our Reference System with NEMO and Nordic Tone at many shows and dealer events. In combination with a great many world-class speakers, we always had the feeling of listening to the true Electrocompaniet Sound of Norway. We had never before heard such an open and fast cable on our Electrocompaniet products.
Now we know just how good our products really are! This cable is literally neutral! If you are looking for one of the best cables for Electrocompaniet, you have to listen to the ZenSati.î

    Matthias Roth, Electrocompaniet Europe GmbH
  • 2 hours later we were still listening...and I more fully understood the term 'neutral'

ìI was originally going to be demonstrating the 3.7's with Magtech electronics, Oppo multi-media player, Silver Circle 5.0 Power Conditioner and Roger Sanders interconnect and speaker cables...however, something happened a few weeks before the show that changed that plan: George Fracchia of ZenSati Australia was after a pair of reference speakers for one of his demo rooms. This was to demonstrate the ZenSati cables and Technical Brain Pre/Power Amps that he distributes in the Australian marketÖ Now, in Georges demo room, the value of his set-up, excluding speakers, is around $150,000...so why a pair of 'budget priced' Maggies for his listening room?

    Neutrality
That's the word that was repeatedly used by George in his description of the ZenSati cables and the Technical Brain electronics. So George wanted neutral speakers that were capable of bringing forth the true capabilities of his cable and amplifier choices. So I duly loaded his pair of 3.7's, in the Cherry timber finish, into the Ute and along with my wife Margaret we headed off to George's. We arrived at around 8.30pm and duly unloaded and set-up the 3.7's in the listening room around 10pm... Now the Maggies were brand new and typically it takes around 6-12 months of time to 'burn-in' and to fully realize their potential.

    The sound?
2 hours later we were still listening...and I more fully understood the term 'neutral'. More than that, I can also tell you that there is something very special about this 'system'. We were listening to one of my favorite SACD/CD Players from T+A that I had previously heard in my home listening room. I believe that it starts with the Technical Brain Pre/Power, combines with the ZenSati cable and is fully realized with the Magnepans. I have since learned that the owner and designer of Technical Brain, Mr Naoto Kurosawa, uses Magnepan 1.7's as his home listening speakers, not only that, but the designer/owner of ZenSati cables, Mr Mark Johansen uses Magnepan 20.1's for his testing and listening, and they both stress 'neutrality' for their products and speaker choices. Depending your point of view, that was probably a mistake. Why you say? Well, after half a track I went to find Margaret and coaxed her in to the listening room...now I was sceptical, but from the very outset, Margaret was even more so, at this price she was not going to be entertaining the idea of these cables!

    So what happened next?
The short answer; when George rang to ask what we wanted to do with the cables Margaret came back with; 'tell George that they are not leaving the showroom'. Enough said.

So that's how I got to be recommending 2 pair of 1m interconnects and 1 pair of 3m speaker cables for $12,000. George tells me that the presentation goes like this: 'The ZenSati cables are $12,000, the Sanders Power and Pre Amp are $10,000 and the Magnepan MG1.7's are $2,999' he says this with his gentle smile and a twinkle in his eye that only his wife Doria would understand!î

  • "Instrumental harmonic structures were essentially correct..."

ìThe ZenSati #1 speaker cable and interconnect sounded veryÖfast, clean, and effervescent, with nimble attacks, generous sustains, and long decays into ìblack.î Ö there was no hint of edge, grit, or grain, yet the top end was wide open, and instrumental harmonic structures were essentially correct in my system. Bottom-end response was tight and fully extended, though Ö youíll find the ZenSatisí Ölean and harmonically bleached.î
ìThe Carole King SACD and the other recordings sounded virtually identical through theÖZenSati cables. The proportions of direct to reflected hall sound and the somewhat hard, bright quality of the reflected sound seemed correct. Kingís amplified voice sounded as if the vocal mike might have been picking it up directly, adding the amplified component and possibly the stage monitor, all ricocheting through the cavernous space, as did the somewhat thin, brittle piano alone on the big stage, the balance of which engineer Hank Cicalo adjusts between songs.î

    Conclusions
ìTARA Labsí Zero and Omega Onyx and ZenSatiís #1 cables were difficult to distinguish between in my system. Those who appreciate the Fono Acusticasí performance might find the TARA and ZenSati cool, harmonically bleached and bass-shy/ The Stealth combo was on the TARA-ZenSati side of the sonic fence but leaned toward the warm Fono Acustica side, particularly in the bottom and middle octaves. It represents an excellent compromise between speed and richness.î

  • "A pure revelation of what a loudspeaker cable can do."

ìAmong the super-cables available to us, I also found ZenSati to be the best. This was a pure revelation of what a loudspeaker cable can do. Insanely good!

  • "ZenSati won - Cable shoot out in New Zealand"

All this hype is well and good, I am sure you have read similar claims many times about all sorts of audio gear, so we took the opportunity to challenge George and his cables to a shootout, to compare them with other highly regarded cable brands like WireWorld Platinum, Nordost Frey, Furutechís Reference, Ramses Reference and Neotechís ultra pure silver cable. When you read their information, your find that all these manufactures claim to be the one whose cables are the most neutral, however it was an eye opener to everyone just how different these high end cables really were, each bought different strengths and weakness to the table. This is not the place to go into all the ins and out of each brand, you needed to be here for that. but I would like to acknowledge those who allowed their cables to be a part of the demo, a number chickened out when it came to the crunch and I have to wonder why, it was a very informative afternoon and each brand had their own special qualities, however suffice to say that we have selected ZenSati cables to take the place of honor for our high-end cables and we have placed an order on the factory for a full complement of their #3 range of interconnects and speaker cables. Maybe someday we will find a way to justify the #2 range, they were sublime, When the ZenSati #3s are installed we will make an open invitation to come along with your music to enjoy the experience, it will definitely be worth the trip.
Terry Humphries, Audio Reference Co, New Zealand
  • "It's a peculiar feeling. Wonderful!!"

The details, the realism of each instrument, the speed, the attack of the strings. My English is not good enough to describe it. I have been using a Rossini CD, among others, and realised, in addition to the sonic improvements already mentioned, that what I had thought was background noise is actually a cellist breathing. Now I feel like turning the volume up and up. It's a peculiar feeling. Wonderful!

  • "There is even more in my system than I thought and the cables bring it out."

Having a full Krell high-end setup in my dedicated, acoustically treated listening room, I'm kind of spoiled when it comes to equipment: I've got a EVO 505 CD/SACD-player as front end (soon to be replaced by the new Krell CD/DVD/BR-player EVO 555), a EVO 707 world class leader pre/pro, two EVO 600 & one EVO 403, and a full 5.1 Krell LAT 1, LAT 2 and LAT Center loudspeaker. I've even found space (and joy!) for a world class turntable setup consisting of Thales Turn Table (!), Thales & Simplicity arms, Ypsilon Stepup & VPS 100 RIAA. Yes, you've got it correct: I pick my hardware with the outmost care and dedication, and only after carefully reviewing and listening sessions I let go of my hard earned money. Let it be of no surprise that my cables were picked after the same scrutiny process the rest of my setup underwent. I used to have a full top-of-the line 5.1 Nordost loudspeaker cables, and with Krell/Nordost CAST MMF hooking the electronics. Music was wonderful, full bodied, resolved with pinpoint clarity and context. I was a happy, spoiled puppy, having finally arrived at what I knew was my own kind of Nirvana. Get on with the music, and relax. And then Mark Johansen from the ZenSati ApS happened. And everything changed for the better. Upon installing my new Thales arm, I had asked the seller if he could recommend some great cables to hook up the turntable to the Ypsilon Stepup and RIAA. I was surprised when he suggested I'd give a new cable brand on the market, ZenSati, a go. Frankly, having a brand new turntable line, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but when the first few tones from the speakers hit my ears I knew I was in for something extraordinary. Being a discerning and critical listener I was totally blown away with the openness, richness in detail and pinpointing clarity ... but above was the speed with which the music was staging the scene. From live concerts I know the start on Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" - O Fortuna - can take a heavy toll and expose every flaw in your setup. With ZenSati installed I was taken one, major step towards replicating the concert hall experiences. Mark was adamant something was still missing in the overall picture and musicality; if he could just demonstrate his latest cable inventions.... He did.. As they say, the rest is history. From his car he pulled a complete set of ZenSati #2 CAST and 5.1 loudspeaker ZenSati #2 cables. One hour later everything was set to go. The same - O Fortuna - hit my ears, and this time I was taken back so hard that I was literary transfixed in my sweet spot. It was like being at the concert once again, with the same musical impressions I had been intoxicated with during my recent visit. The music was streaming relentlessly throughout the room, fully resolved, without any edge, enclosing my mind with the outmost delight. The stage now stretched far outside the room's physical boundaries. It was as if the scene was as wide and deep as in the theater itself, with the musicians being physically present, seeing fingers playing their instruments. Magic! Every detail counts when it comes to reproducing music at home on your own setup. ZenSati acted in many ways as a magnifying glass, clearly enabling me to pinpoint where the music stemmed from, both in space and time. The cables surprised me with exquisite resolution and separation of instruments. Most importantly ZenSati in no way interfered with the music flow. The full ZenSati setup exposed and promoted the music per se and it was completely neutral. Brilliant highs in music was ... brilliant highs in my listening room; full bodied instruments came through as they were intended to. ZenSati did less to the electrical signals than any of my former high end cables. ZenSati liberates the music from any artificial constraints in a very obvious and powerful fashion. To me, that's what it's all about.

  • "it is very clear to me that these cables are 100% neutral"

After weeks of intensive listening sessions with interconnects, speaker cables and power cords from the Danish company ZenSati, it is very clear to me that these cables are 100% neutral. The feeling is that the cables have a massive bandwidth and nothing seems squeezed together or strained. If you are the owner of a high-end audio setup in true balance, then you don t have to search any more for cables, as the ZenSati cables will provide you with a 1-to-1 transport of the signals. However, if you have a setup which requires cables to fine-tune and adjust your set-up, then forget about ZenSati buy instead one of the cables which colors the bottom or smoothens the top. Here is no voodoo, actually no mysteries the ZenSati cables simply just do the work  transporting the perfect signals through your system and to the room.
    Morten Eskildsen - Denmark
  • "The ZenSati cables are among my three preferences and reference cables in the world"

The first contact with the new ZenSati cables happened during a trip to Copenhagen in August. We listened to the cables in two reference set ups and the cables did not add or subtract from the experience. In set up nr. one we vere presented with Krell and Sonus Faber Stradivari speakers, the room not yet maximal tuned but after two minutes it was clear what this cables  didn t  do to the sound, a perfect neutrality that exposed the set up and the Stradivari warts and all. In this room the Stradivari would perform wonderfully on small ensembles but as soon as you threw something more complex at them the whole sound-image collapsed. The speed, transparency and no listen-able restriction throughout the whole tonal spectre gave you a fair good idea of what this system could achive once set up properly. Our second listening session was done with Audio Research REF series and Wilson Audio Watt / Puppy 8. This in a maximal tuned set up, the articulation at the extremes, the total lack of coloration and the speed of delivery flattened me. Listening to this system, also here, brought forward only the signature of the components without adding or subtracting from the experience. When I set out for Copenhagen I told my friend I was going to  not  listen to some cables and this was a perfect description, although my friends now think me more crazy than ever. The conclusion from my first experience with these cables is that they probably are some of the fastest most neutral and limitless cables around. My second meeting with the ZenSati cables was at the Horten show, medio September, where I was lucky enough to have them present in my reference set up. Here I played on Ypsilon CD and DAC, Plinius amplification and Lithophon Miracle loudspeakers. This is a system that I know well and can only say that the cables did what they set out to do, NOTHING. The neutrality and speed, openness and articulation and the limitless outstretched air and control at the outmost extremes was so present it gave the music a perfect environment to blossom and show you the whole palette of musical colours. In this set up I utilised the Series Two and from a long experience with a lot of cables I can only conclude that these cables now are both my own references and Audiostone AS preferred cables when presenting our gear world wide. So to the final chapter so far. Substituting the reference Ecosse cables in my system with the ZenSati opened up the system and revealed details in my system that I was not aware of before. The transformation and sound-profile described earlier was also true here and I can hardly wait to test the Phono cable and mains cables in my system for a total set up, scary though as this is. Conclusion: The ZenSati cables are among my three preferences and reference cables in the world. They do not do anything, letting both the equipment and the music speak for itself. The total lack of any  addition  to the sound and the limitless articulation in both dept and high, width and soundstage makes these cables unique in the market place today and gain many leagues on a lot of other cable producers out there.

  • "This bass test was passed with flying colours – with ZenSati #3 things were more dynamic and more detailed than ever before."
In 20 years of listening to music, a huge amount of equipment has passed through our living room. Offhand, I can name such brands as Classé, Mark Levinson, Plinius, Primare, JBL, SOTA, Montana, Sonus Faber and Vienna Acoustic Strauss. To begin with, it was always fun to try something new and see what difference it made to musicality, dynamics and/or resolution. Throughout these long, exciting years, there have been both ups and downs in the reference that was gradually assembled. When I first encountered ZenSati cables, my system consisted of Plinius Hiato, Plinius CD 101, Plinius Koru RIAA, VPI turntable and Pioneer S-1X loudspeakers. These fine components were connected by cables of good quality. My dealer allowed me to try ZenSati #3 on a two-week home trial to see what they could do. Cables have always been a bit of a grey area for me. I just wasnít convinced that they made any real difference; after all, itís only a bit of wire between two components. I hooked everything up and warmed up the system in preparation for a comparison between my old cables and ZenSati #3. Then something incredible happened, a major ìAhaî experience. Starting from below, the bass was substantially tighter, as if the bottom end extended further and the kick drum was lightning-fast ñ it went BOOM, instead of boooooooom. Kick drum and electric bass were more distinct with better separation. I could barely keep my right foot from playing along, a truly marvellous experience. And I have to mention Erich Kunzelís îEin Straussfestî, an extremely vibrant classical masterpiece with lots of cannon fire and abrupt starts and stops. This bass test was passed with flying colours ñ with ZenSati #3 things were more dynamic and more detailed than ever before. Midrange clarity was enhanced. Stevie Ray Vaughanís electric guitar on Tin Pan Alley from Couldnít Stand the Weather was more beautiful than ever and cut even deeper. Eva Cassidyís fine guitar work was also better than ever. And I could go on. The high end is more extended, clearer, more open. Over-emphasised sibilants were now a thing of the past, if the recording was up to it. My Beryllium tweeters were challenged, but in a good way. Listening to Zen Breakfast by Karmesh with numerous bells made it immediately obvious that the bells were defined in an entirely new way. There was simply more separation when the bells rang out ñ a very engaging experience. My overall conclusion is that there is greater musical coherence and tonal neutrality with no colouration. Another really positive point for me is that I now can play louder without distortion. Transient response is significantly improved, i.e. drivers start and stop when they are supposed to without disruptions in the signal path from amplification to transducer. I cannot strongly enough recommend auditioning ZenSati cables. Listening to music is a daily joy and pleasure, so why not make the most of the experience? I have not tried anything better at the price and if they are going to be changed, it would have to be to an even better ZenSati model. I have listened to ZenSati #1 for a couple of weeks and can confirm that it is indeed even better, but it also represents a substantially greater investment relative to ZenSati #3. So for the time being, ZenSati #3 stays in my system, which currently consists of Mark Levinson 383, Classe SACD 2 and Vienna Acoustic Strauss.
